EMPATHY PORTFOLIO ENTRY Hillary's Systematizing Quotient: 15
0 - 19 = low
20 - 39 = average (most women score about 24 and most men score about 30)
40 - 50 = above average (most people with Asperger Syndrome or high-functioning autism score in this range)
51 - 80 is very high (three times as many people with Asperger Syndrome score in this range, compared to typical men, and almost no women score in this range)

Hillary's Emotional Quotient: 20

33 - 52 = average (most women score about 47 and most men score about 42)
53 - 63 is above average
64 - 80 is very high

For my empathy portfolio, I decided to test both my Emotional Quotient and my Systematizing Quotient ("male brain" side). My EQ was not a surprise to me in the slightest; I scored the same as someone with Asperger Syndrome (which I, by the way, do not have). However, the results of my SQ were troubling and confusing to me. I thought these two were supposed to be opposites, so that someone who scored low on the EQ test would score high in the SQ test. So naturally, I was confused when I scored low on both of these tests. Fundamentally, I do not like to empathize, nor do I like to systematize. I also believe that these tests should be taken with a grain of salt. The EQ test told me I have Asperger's and the SQ test told me I am far from it. Therefore, I don't believe in the legitimacy of these tests in the same way that I don't believe in the legitimacy of Daniel Pink's book.
